That Wide Eyed GAZE...

Who wouldn't want to speak English fluently in these recent times? As I was poor enough at English to attend Spoken English Classes, I was asked to join an institute near my home.  I was anyway getting bored with the 3 month vacation and thought it would be a good idea of spending time. So I joined with few of my school friends.
Everyday i had to attend two hour class which was totally fun. After two days of my classes, there was a new entry in the class. Well, new entry is really a common thing in any crash course. But this particular new entry was something special(atleast to me). His name was Suhas. He looked quite cool but failed miserably in possessing an impressing personality. I hadn't had much interaction with anybody as i always had my silly friends to keep me busy.

One fine day, as a part of the course we had to choose some topic and give a small speech. Me and my friends screwed up the things by blabbering stupid stuff. It was the Suhas's turn to deliver his own crap. But I was wrong. He sounded so well with the topic he chose, that everyone started clapping for the way he expressed himself. Although i never spoke to him earlier, i spontaneously went to him and congratulated for his speech. And then he asked my name, i told it was Swathi and left the place.
The next day i came to know through one of my friends that Suhas was staring at me. I just thought my silly friends' had no other work to do except making stupid fun. Well, i was proved  wrong. The next day i actually found him staring at me. I felt uncomfortable. Three days passed away with the staring continuing. My friends started teasing me with that highly applauded guy.
The next day, the teacher told that he wanted to test our debating skills. He picked up me and Suhas, gave us a topic and asked us to have a debate. The debate started, i should rather say the STARING debate as Suhas never kept his eyes off mine. I couldn't stop smiling. I just couldnt speak any word. He was really excellent at the debate(leaving the staring aside). I tried to manage to finish it somehow. I felt that things were going out of hands and wanted to speak to Suhas about the 'Eye Staring'
After the debate, we were given a 10 minutes break. I went to him and asked what is that staring thing supposed to signify. He smiled and looked at my eyes to ask "Do I Stare?".  He moved from that place. I thought that he must have gone nuts. But slowly those eyes attracted me. My friends told me that he must have be having a crush on you. I slowly realized that i too had a crush on him. The classes went on with his eyes always on me and my blushing face for his looks. I was just lost in his thoughts as the days passed by. I started dreaming about him. When I told my friend about the ongoing situation, she told me that I was in love. I too felt it might be and thought i should wait till the guy opens up.
The classes came to an end. I waited for him to speak something. But he just asked me to fill up a page in his slam. I gave my contact number and wrote some stupid stuff. I left the institute as there were no signs of him speaking out the truth. The next day i got a call from some unknown number. I was very sure that it was Suhas. I answered the call with the most possible sweet voice i could fake. Both of us had a very formal conversation for the first few minutes. Then he broke my heart asking if i could help him in building up a relationship with my best friend. I broke up into tears and hung up the phone. I transferred his number into reject list and lived in the memories of my days with the staring eyes.

Eighteenth Birthday

All of us love to celebrate diwali, holi, dassera, christmas, ramzan etc with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. We wish every person we meet and celebrate it in all the ways possible. I too love to celebrate every festival. And my favorite festival has always been my Birthday. Since my childhood i have always celebrating it to the fullest. Everyone used to give me some sort of respect on my birthday which makes me feel like i am a queen and i have come here for ruling the world. The most beautiful festival of mine falls on Feb 20th. And in all those Feb 20ths'  that i have celebrated, the most exciting one was in 2009(My eighteenth birthday).

Feb 19th 2009:

5:00 pm: The exciting levels in mine was reaching high and high as the one of the most awaited days(other awaited days are also my bdays only :) ) in my life is just 7 hrs away. I wanted to go out with my friends and have some fun. I finished my lab and came to hostel to find that the other girls are already gone outside for some personal work. I felt like i was left out and started missing my school friends. I cried a little as i was scared that the queen's rule stuff wouldnt work here.

8:00 pm: There was no separate mess for the girls hostel as were just 5 in number(accurately 4 :P). The food used to come from the boys hostel. And on that day only I and Kirti were there at the hostel by the time food was served. The food was so aweful that i couldnt stop my tears. After half an hour Anushmita and Spandana returned to the hostel with 10 mins difference i guess. I was angry with them that they couldnt have any time for me. But i didnt express it out.

9:00 pm: I, Anushmita and Spandana were blabbering on some topic which looked obviously stupid to me as in 3 hrs my day was going to come. They told me sorry that they couldnt get time to buy a cake. I spoke nothing and started shedding tears. I didnt tell them what made me feel bad. I didnt want to as i thought people might wonder why would someone give so much importance they birthday.

11:30 pm: I watched some movie. I had started receiving calls from my very good friends. I was complaining to everyone that "I have got no good friends. There was no one for me here to buy even a cake".

Feb 20th 2010:

12:00 am: Anushmita, Kirti and Spandana wished me. I was thanking god that these people atleast got time to wish me. And then my idiotic friends, fondly known as the Kerala Gang didnt mind to call me. I was totally frustrated and wanted to yell at someone. And then something special happened. The girls took me downstairs and i found 20 people who looked like my friends coming from the lane into the appartment. I was totally shocked. One had a two step lovely cake in their hands. And my idiotic friends no more seemed to be idiotic and the other girls had got a wonderful dress for me which i had liked it and couldn't buy. I was almost in tears and hugged Anushmita tightly. They had actually been out to arrange all that stuff that was taking place.

12:30 am: It took me half an hour to give cake to each and every person. The cake was yummyyyyy.. I just loved it. And when everyone's turn was finished, some of my extra-ordinary friends started the cake war. Many of them picked up a huge piece of that yummy cake just to throw at some person. And those cake pieces instead fell on the cars of the other residents. Although we had a tough time because of that, it was fun.

1:00 am: I thanked everyone and sent them back to their hostel. I went to bed with a huge smile as i was going to be the queen again.

P.S: Thanks to each and every person who had made my day.
